Formerly known as FDC, we have recently rebranded under the name NEXT GEN Dance Studio.
Raising the next generation of dancers, our studio offers fun and energetic dance classes for children and teens.
Here at NEXT GEN, we believe dancing is all about creativity & self expression through movement and we provide a positive, judgement free zone for kids to do just that.

Tiana Emery
Dance Tutor & Studio Owner
My name is Tiana Emery, I am 22 years old and I am the owner of Next Gen Dance Studio.
I have danced since I could walk and began teaching at the age of 15.
Dancing is my greatest passion.
I have trained at a high level since the age of 12, this gave me many opportunities such as representing Christchurch at many national competitions and also representing New Zealand on the world stage twice.
But, my favourite opportunity I gained from my years of training is being able to teach hundreds of children and getting to watch their passion for dance ignite.
During my 7 years of teaching I have taught beginner / intermediate classes at FDC, taught in local schools & have also taught advanced competition teams whom I have taken to multiple national competitions.
I am honoured to be part of many children’s dance journeys. Watching their face light up in class, seeing them shine on stage and watching them get more confident each week brings me the utmost joy.
I cannot wait to share my love for dancing and the happiness it brings me with more students as Next Gen Dance Studio continues to grow.
